This headline might make you think that I am anti-Adam Schefter. That’s not true. I think he’s fine. Is he a little bit too big for his britches? Yeah, there are times where I think that’s possible. But overall, he has done no harm to me even if I am a more of an Ian Rapoport guy. Schefter explained to HBO’s Real Sports about how he broke the Matt LaFleur to the Packers to Matt LaFleur himself. Here’s what Schefter said. Needless to say, I don’t believe him.

People are cumming their pants over this and I’m sitting here thinking a little deeper on it. Probably more than I need to, but I digress. Schefter did not likely touch base with all of the candidates. I’m sure one of them or two of them told him that LaFleur is getting the job. Therefore, he went to call LaFleur and found out that he did not get eliminated proving his point. It seems a little weird that Schefter did a ‘Gotcha’ to a head coaching candidate as well.

What actually happened was the Packers offered LaFleur the job. He likely took it or was in the process of going through the contract’s fine details, so, when Schefty called he did not want to break the news to Schefter. The new Packers coach likely played dumb, and the ESPN reporter gets to have his victory lap.
