Analyzing the Packers 2018 Opponents

Green Bay Packers are going to be the third place team in NFC North no matter what happens against Detroit on Sunday afternoon. Now, you can root for the Packers, but I would not recommend it if you want a high draft pick. There are a lot of teams that are hovering around the 6-10, 7-9, 8-8 record. You want this team to fall below .500 in order to get the best optimal draft pick. Green Bay’s 2018 opponents have some interesting subplots, and some games that will squarely be primetime games. Also, we aren’t going to discuss the division for 2018 because it’s the same every year.
Primetime specials
at New England Patriots – Curious to see who gets this one. My guess is they’ll give it to FOX, but I’m sure NBC will want their paws on it as well. These two teams have played some absolute classics over the past couple years.
at Los Angeles Rams – Rumors are this could be a London game, but I can’t see it. Full sellout in Los Angeles and probably one of the Rams primetime games next season.
at Seattle – Return to the CenturyLink Field. This team could look a little different, but this is a classic rivalry that usually gains primetime attention.
vs. Atlanta – It’s about damn time that Green Bay gets the Falcons at home. I don’t know the state of this team, but it always seem to be a primetime game between these two teams.
Potential primetime
vs. Buffalo – This feels like a potential Monday night game. Green Bay’s last game against the Bills did not go very well as Buffalo delivered a beat down at the Ralph.
vs. San Francisco – This could get bumped up to the primetime slot if San Fran adds more talent around Jimmy G. I think this will be one with some eyes on it with Garappolo going up against Rodgers.
Obvious Noon games
at New York Jets – Last time Green Bay play the Jets in MetLife only 12 points were scored. Jets could be a tricky team for Green Bay next season.
vs. Miami – Man, let’s all hope Jay Cutler returns for one more time at Lambeau
vs. Arizona – Game doesn’t have the luster it used to between these two teams that once met in the playoffs.
at Washington – Who knows with Kirk Cousins’ future with the team. Green Bay hasn’t done well in D.C. besides that playoff game.
This is a tough 2018 slate if we were in 2017. Let’s wait and see what happens in the offseason.
