I talked about on the podcast my distaste for April Fools on the Internet. Everyone rolls some idea that is a variation of last year’s idea. And they try to get witty and creative with how they do that. None of the Wisconsin sports team did play an April Fools Joke on their social media accounts besides the Wisconsin Badgers. They released a long statement saying that Jump Around is now banned from the stadium. It is clearly fake, but here’s what they put out on social media.

Here’s the thing with this one, the statement is too long. If Wisconsin actually wanted to pull this off right, they go into Camp Randall Stadium and show some examples of sitting versus standing. Also, they should have done the four suggested dances instead on video. I get they’re likely keeping costs down, but it falls flat to me. I’m not reading a long statement.

No one fell for it, but there were some interesting comments about ending the ‘Eat Shit, Fuck you’ chat saying that should be the one actually going versus just a joke. Also, they actually did ban Jump Around several years ago which led to students chanting ‘Fuck the Sound guy and throwing middle fingers in the air.’ They don’t call them one of the best student sections in the country for nothing, folks!
