Barstool Sports Is Selling Badgers’ Collin Wilder’s Grit Factory Hats

Barstool Sports does not usually miss a good opportunity for merchandise. If they see something, a meme or a moment, that is worth capitalizing they likely take advantage of it. In this case, Colin Wilder was on the sidelines with his teammates wearing a ‘Grit Factory’ hat. The hat, a trucker hat, was part of Wilder’s Halloween costume where he dressed up as a ‘Grit Factory’ worker. Dan Katz aka Barstool Big Cat saw the NIL deal from a mile away and got it done. You can now have your own ‘Grit Factory’ hats.

Wilder did not only do a deal with Barstool Sports. He also made a deal happen with Breaking T who created t-shirts off the Grit Factory idea. Wilder is getting his money’s worth for a seven-dollar Halloween idea.

These really speak to the power of the NIL deal. And these are more important than some of the other deals we have seen done with college athletes. I saw a note about Myles Brennan, the LSU quarterback who was supposed to be the starter. Brennan got paid but people did it based on potential versus in the moment. The latter is so much better. The companies, Barstool and Breaking T, will see much more of an ROI with Wilder, and Wilder will get a ton of the revenue coming in on his end. All in all, this is a great deal.
Charlie.
