Breaking Down The Marquette Jersey Bracket

Everyone is doing some sort of bracket or quarantine house to pass the time. We did our own on the podcast yesterday. SnoTapWI hasn’t done a bracket yet. Why? Honestly, there is so much crossover that it isn’t worth my time. We are in a weird time when random comedians are claiming they own fantasy drafting and none of us can do it on our collective platforms but I digress. The Marquette Golden Eagles Twitter account came out with a bracket of the top current jersey looks for the Golden Eagles. Let’s break it down.
The #mubb jersey bracket has arrived!
The first matchup will begin tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. with the No. 2⃣ (Navy) vs. No. 7⃣ (Gray) matchup.
Voting will be open for 24 hours before a winner is decided. pic.twitter.com/zT5pBbhG0h

Let’s start with White getting a bye. That’s ridiculous. I get that is Marquette’s primary home jersey, but it is easily the least sexy of the bunch. The white jersey is getting the same respect that Duke gets when a bracket comes out. They’re vulnerable in Round 2. Navy has an easy path to round two because if anyone picks gray over it, delete me from your life forever. Championship blue wins over the N7, but those N7 could have contended with a bit more flash. The hardest choice is black versus gold. I lean gold, but man, the black jerseys grew on me as the year went on.
In the semifinals, I’m putting gold ahead of white. As I said, white got the fortunate seed but the gold jerseys are far better. Weirdly, I think they mean more. On the other side, it’s tough. The navy jerseys are truly sharp but the championship blue is unlike most teams have in college basketball. That is probably my choice, but it’s closer than the experts think.
The final pits the gold jerseys against the championship blue. Tough call and like both versions. But again, my final vote is the championship blue for the uniqueness of the color and the look.
Charlie.
