Milwaukee Brewers were coming off back to back games of 12 runs scored. The first two games in Philadelphia felt like a breathe of fresh air considering Milwaukee’s bats have been struggling to say the least. It also was nice to have Milwaukee won another series on the road and wrapped up another long road trip on Sunday. Sadly, Milwaukee could not get the sweep against Philadelphia as the Breaks didn’t bounce Milwaukee’s way as the Brewers fall 4-3. Tough road trip going 3-5, but they can’t all be gems.

Player of the Game: Zach Eflin – I’ve been told that Zach Eflin isn’t very good, but I find that hard to believe. Like this guy is awful against lefties apparently, but that didn’t happen at all on Sunday. He dealt for six innings with one struggle point in the fifth where there were a few bad breaks. He struck out nine Brewers and only allowed three hits over six innings. He pitched Milwaukee very tough on Sunday.

Silver Star: Ryan Braun – Another good game for Braun who played in his third straight game. Braun had two hits including one that added Milwaukee’s third run as they tried to come back. He also made a great diving catch to preserve a run. It’s good to see Braun continue to play well. And who knows when the day off comes for the Brewers hitter. My guess is he will end up on the bench on Tuesday evening.

Honorable Mention – Brandon Woodruff – Even though he only pitched four innings, Woodruff did pretty well. He only allowed one hit, three strikeout and one unearned run. Woodruff did well in a spot start, and hopefully, he will continue to get chances at the big league level. Woodruff should get another opportunity to start, but it might not be available.

Next up – Here we go. Cubs-Brewers. A series that many have been waiting for. Jose Quintana will go for Chicago, and he dazzled against Milwaukee twice this season. Junior Guerra will go for Milwaukee. Can’t explain how big this game is tomorrow.
