BrewCap: Brewers’ Disastrous Again in Day Games

Milwaukee Brewers need to figure out how to play better in day games. 105.7 The Fan’s Bart Winkler had the breakdown this morning. Milwaukee is 41-20 at night, and they’re 17-26 during the day. That’s not great. Milwaukee needs to figure out their routine a little differently during the day. I’m not saying they should have won yesterday, but there’s no reason to ba absolutely dogshit against Tanner Roark whose been awful of late. That’s uncalled from Milwaukee. Still, it’s nice to see the Brewers win a series and go 3-3 at home.
Player of the Game: Tanner Roark – Yes, he was pretty good yesterday. It’s incredible to see Roark find himself at Miller Park. This is his best start since 6/28, and it’s the first time the Nationals have won with Roark starting since early June. He did really well on Wednesday afternoon with eight innings, three hits and 11 strikeouts. He didn’t allow anything close to trouble.
Silver Star: Bryce Harper – Even though he only had one hit, it was a big hit. Harper hit a three-run homer against Freddy Peralta that pushed Washington ahead by six runs. Harper did not really do much damage this series except for that three run blast. The game was close at 3-0, and it became a brand new ball game after Peralta hung a curveball.
Honorable Mention: Jorge Lopez – Things were not good for the Brewers obviously, but Lopez played really well on Wednesday afternoon. After Peralta went out for six innings, he did great in relief. Three innings of no hits and struck out one batter in the process. He’s been a clean-up man for the Brewers this season at various times of the season. He has a 2.75 ERA for the season. That’s not bad at all for a guy whose split time from Triple A and in the major leagues.
Next up
Brewers head out west to play San Francisco. This is not one of my favorite parks for the Brewers. It’s sort of like a West Coast PNC Park for Milwaukee. It’s great we get some west coast baseball in our lives though. I don’t hate it at all. Wade Miley goes for the Brewers whose been good for the team this season while the Giants send Dereck Rodriguez to the mound. He’s done really well for San Francisco with a 2.74 ERA this season.
