Milwaukee Brewers came off a 12-3 win on Friday night to face the Philadelphia Phillies again on Saturday afternoon. Zach Eflin is not a good pitcher. Not one bit. But when facing Milwaukee, he’s fucking Cy Young. Eflin dominated again against Milwaukee en route to a Phillies 4-1 victory. Brewers’ pitching staff had their own problems though. They had 10 walks through four pitchers. It was a rough game from the Crew. Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals later this evening, and Chicago is now only .5 game back of Milwaukee.

Player of the Game: Zach Eflin – We haven’t done much of the Brewers Killers club this season. Most of that is due Milwaukee’s success as a baseball team. But Eflin adds his name to the list. Milwaukee will be happy not to see him again this season. The Phillies righty goes five innings with six strikeouts and only allows one run in the first inning. After the first, there was not much damage done through the rest of those five innings.

Silver Star: Rhys Hoskins – In the five games Milwaukee has played against Philadelphia, we really haven’t seen much from Hoskins besides a three-home homer last Saturday. Hoskins played a major role on Saturday. He had three hits including a home run and a double. Hoskins got on base a fourth time by walking later in the game. Hoskins played a great game hitting from the two hole yesterday for Milwaukee.

Honorable Mention: Ryan Braun – Nice day for Braunie with two hits, but more importantly, he stole a base leading to his 200th stolen base of his career. Braun is one of the youngest players to get to 300 home runs and 200 stolen bases. Good for Braun. He’s continued to have a great career. I wonder if he’ll get to 500 homers considering he’s not the same with the bat.

Next up: Brewers-Phillies wrap up their series on Sunday. The very tough Aaron Nola will go for Philadelphia. He’s been awesome this season. An All-Star and a borderline Cy Young candidate. Chase Anderson gets another chance to turn around his season on Sunday. Anderson was great versus Chicago on Tuesday. Let’s hope the same happens on Sunday.
