Brewers New Motto: Anything Is Possible

To quote one of my favorite podcasters and writers, Dan Katz, ‘I’m a meatball sports fan sometimes where I just lose all knowledge of what’s right and wrong.’ Jhoulys Chacin, the Brewers ace of the season, pitched great in two starts versus Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals on the road. It’s hard to ask more of Chacin. And he had the quote of the year, and the quote that I think the Brewers are going to ride until the end of the year. ‘Anything is Possible.’ Here’s what he said to the media then tweeted out later in the day.
“I think anything is possible now for me and the team,” said Chacin. “We win on Sunday, a day game, and I finally beat the Cardinals.” https://t.co/fUzx7pD7GY

Brewers are currently in the middle of Wild Card hell. They’re bunched in with multiple teams where it’s going to change every day. Remember when I tweeted out when the Chicago Cubs tied the Brewers for the NL Central lead that this summer is going to be up and down, exciting and depressing but in the end you have to ride it out. Brewers are 3.5 games back of the Cubs, but they have the second-easiest schedule of the contenders for the rest of the season. That hasn’t always worked out for the Brewers, but they know it too. That’s why Chacin said something like this. They play Cincinnati twice in the next two weeks (Cubs and Cardinals play them once as well) plus a meeting with the Nationals and Pirates who are both reeling of late before a Miller Park showdown with Chicago starting on Labor Day.
Milwaukee could easily make some ground here. Cardinals have a rough six-game road trip out West with the Dodgers and Rockies who are both fighting for the same thing, a Wild Card spot.
Anything is possible and it’s time to fucking go.
Charlie.
