Brewers Weren’t Exactly Down With Trevor Bauer’s Beer Celly

Trevor Bauer is one of the more electric personalities in baseball. He is part of the crew that is making baseball fun again. With Bauer now on the Reds, it feels like the restrictor plate off the red dragon. Sonny Gray struck out 45 batters in his first five games, and Bauer quote tweeted saying ‘Hold my beer.’ Budweiser jumped into the marketing game and offered Bauer his own ‘Cincinnati Buds’ beer if he broke the record tonight. After Bauer struck out Avisail Garcia, Bauer proceeded to drink a fake beer on the mound to celebrate his record. It was pretty awesome and again, something that is needed more in baseball.

Brett Anderson, who if you follow him on Twitter, can be a crotchety old man on Twitter who did not exactly like it when talking to the media after the game.
#Brewers Brett Anderson on Trevor Bauer's mock beer drinking on mound: "Obviously, we do things a little different. But to each their own, and congrats on setting whatever record he got or whatever beers get changed to Buds or whatever the hell happens. Good for him.”

It is also pretty funny that three batters later you saw Justin Smoak hit a bomb off Bauer to put the Brewers up 4-0. A lead that they would not give the rest of the game. Bauer has been a Cy Young candidate this year, but this backfired on him today. Still fun, just didn’t work out the way he wanted it too.
