Bucks Are Going To Game 7, Baby

Milwaukee Bucks will not go quietly into the night. The Bucks will be playing a Game 7 on Saturday night in Boston after playing a tremendous second half where they overwhelmed Boston with their defense for a 96-86 victory. It was one of Milwaukee’s best defensive efforts in this playoffs, and one of the best for the entire season. Giannis Antetokounmpo took the team on his back for a massive 31 points, 14 rebound performance. That’s how you play like a superstar and force a Game 7. Now, the question remains can the Bucks pull off the upset?
Five things that stood out last night.
1.) Bucks finally figure out how to rebound – It took six games, but Milwaukee finally rebounded the basketball. As mentioned, Giannis pulled down 14 boards and Jabari Parker had 11 himself with an inspired effort. Malcolm Brogdon and Khris Middleton each had six. Milwaukee had a nose for the ball last night which we haven’t seen against Boston.
2.) Giannis was the man last night – Here’s the thing about the Giannis narrative, I was fine with the 10 shots on Tuesday night. It did not bother me like it may have some people. I understood that Boston madea adjustments that Antetokounmpo was not ready for. He shot the ball 23 times in this game, and at times, it felt like Milwaukee could not lose with the way Giannis was playing. He had a great game and silenced any haters that were starting to build a case against him.
3.) Bucks on the break – Milwaukee outscored Boston 25-4 in fast break points in this game. That’s an incredible statistic. Milwaukee found ways to play their game for the duration of this one where everything is in transition. Boston only scoring four shows how well Milwaukee played on defense. They got back to defend and made it difficult for Boston to get easy buckets.
4.) Jabari Parker continues his hot play – Even though he went 4-for-10, Jabari Parker looked great out there. He nearly had a double-double and provided the bench support that Milwaukee continues to need in these playoffs. Bully Bari returned in the last couple of games, and it’s great to see.
5.) Style points – Milwaukee played their style last night. Fast paced with a ton of transition opportunities. Boston played their style in Game 5. The question for Game 7 is who wins out for that one. Nerves are going to be a huge issue for these teams, but I do like the fact Milwaukee has the best player on the court.
If this is the last game at the Bradley Center, it’s great to send it off with a win.
Charlie.
