Bucks Buzz: Banged Up Bucks Come Up Short in Cleveland
The injury bug finally came to Milwaukee. After what has been a pretty healthy year for the team, Bucks are dealing with a ton of injuries. Seven players missed Wednesday game against Cleveland meaning there were only eight active players to suit up for the team. It is not surprising that the Bucks struggled with Cleveland last night and ended up losing 107-102. Toronto beat Oklahoma City on Wednesday night, and Raptors are now only two games back of the Bucks for the number one spot in the Eastern Conference.
Player of the Game: Eric Bledsoe – It has been awhile since we have seen a good game from Eric Bledsoe, but he put one together on Wednesday night. Bucks point guard scored 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists. He did what he could to keep Milwaukee involved in this game. Bledsoe got others involved with his assist total up near double-digits and did what he could to keep Milwaukee in this ball game.
Silver Star: Khris Middleton – If you want a silver lining to this game, it might be that Khris Middleton continues to show off his confident approach. Hopefully when everyone returns, that becomes more apparent. Middleton scored 26 points, 12 rebounds and made four 3-pointers. Middleton was great out of the gate scoring 14 of his 26 in the first quarter. He appeared to be the only one ready as the Bucks struggled out of the gates.
Positive: Help is on the way – The good news for Milwaukee is Giannis Antetokounmpo should be back for the game against Miami on Friday night. Mike Budenholzer also said that Sterling Brown could be back at the end of this week. Giannis getting to rest his ankle is a smart thing to do. Bucks do have some big games upcoming with the likes of Houston and Los Angeles, so, they likely need Giannis to win those games.
Negative: DJ and Planet Pat need to be better – What a brutal performance by the Bucks bench yesterday. D.J. Wilson went 1-for-9 from the field and registered a -25 PER for the game. Not to be outdone, Pat Connaughton also struggled from the field only making four shots in 34 minutes of action. He finished with a -20 PER. When your bench is short and two guys equal a -45 PER, that is not a good thing.
Highlight of the Night: DJ may have had a bad night from the field but this dunk was cool.

Next up: Bucks take on a Miami team that is rolling since their collapse against Milwaukee last week. Since that game, the Heat have rattled off three straight wins beating Charlotte, Oklahoma City and San Antonio. That’s a pretty good set of teams to take down especially San Antonio considering they won nine straight before losing that one.
