Bucks Buzz: Bucks Wipe Out the Wizards
Milwaukee Bucks do not like losing twice to an opponent this season. Like they really do not like it. As Kane Pittman noted, Bucks are 8-0 against the teams that beat them the last time and won by an average of 19.5 points. Washington Wizards were no different. They received an ass-kicking like other teams have this season. Milwaukee jumped on Washington early and often resulting in a 131-115 victory. This was a great win for Milwaukee led by solid shooting and being perfect at a free-throw line.
Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Last time, the Bucks-Wizards got together, there was no Giannis on the court. Tonight, Giannis showed up and he delivered in a major way. Antetokounmpo scored 37 points with 10 rebounds. He scored 37 points on 20 shot attempts and being a complete beast at the free throw line. Giannis made all 17 free throws. This is the first time all season where Giannis made all of his free throws. It’s incredible that it happened when he shot 17 in a game. Washington had zero answer for him.
Silver Star: Khris Middleton – We’re starting to see Khris Middleton have a little bit of heat like he did earlier this season. If Middleton can end the ‘first half’ on a hot streak, that would be huge for Milwaukee. Middleton scored 20 points with seven rebounds and six assists with +28. He had the second-best PER in the game as Brook Lopez had a +30. Middleton had some great moments in the game including a circus shot. Things were rolling right for Midds. Hopefully, he can keep this up.
Positive: Free throws = 100 emoji – We mentioned this with Giannis, but the entire team did not miss a free throw last night. That’s fucking incredible. This does not happen often. They went a perfect 24-for-24 from the line. If Giannis can make himself an 80% or better free throw shooter down the stretch, I have no idea who will stop the Bucks. They already have a winning margin around 9.5 points, but if you add Giannis making more free throws, that’s a huge bonus.
Negative: Another complacent third – This is small potatoes, but Milwaukee definitely let the foot off the gas pedal in the third quarter. The same thing happened against Toronto on Thursday night. Washington went on a 16-0 run and somewhat made this a game again. Bucks never let it get into double-digits, but still, that’s something Milwaukee shouldn’t let happen against a non-playoff team.

Next up: Bucks continue their road trip on Monday to play Brooklyn. This wraps up their five-game road trip in the last 10 days. Brooklyn will not be an easy for the Bucks. This is a different Nets team than Milwaukee saw in late December as D’Angelo Russell didn’t play plus it was a back-to-back game. Nets are going to give Milwaukee a game and will be a very tough one for the Bucks to win their fourth straight.
