Bucks Buzz: Composure Finds Bucks at Right Time
In any sport, composure is key. Sometimes, it can be the difference to winning and losing. Take the Milwaukee Bucks for example on Monday night. They did not have their composure in the first three quarters of the game. Four technicals and a general guise of frustration hovered over them as Brooklyn got a majority of the calls. Nets were also supreme floppers throughout the game, and the refs were taking the cheese drawing to more Bucks frustration. That said, Milwaukee did not let it boil over. They found composure in the fourth quarter and blew away the Brooklyn Nets in the fourth for a 131-121 victory. This is the fifth straight year where Milwaukee won the season series over Brooklyn.
Player of the Game: Eric Bledsoe – The Bucks point guard loves to play against the Nets. He had another stellar game versus Brooklyn. He finished with 29 points, seven assists, five rebounds, five steals and two blocks. That’s a fucking stat line. With Khris Middleton being out with a groin injury, Bledsoe shouldered more of the load and took care of business for Milwaukee. He played a strong game, and the former Kentucky standout continues to make me believe he can be the second guy on this team.
Silver Star: George Hill – While Bledsoe was in his bag as the kids say, George Hill had himself a night as well. Bucks point guard scored 22 points off the bench providing some much needed relief from the bench. This tied his Bucks high, and it is safe to say that Hill is fully healthy again after his groin injury. If he can add this in a playoff game here and there, it will be extremely valuable for Milwaukee.
Positive: One win away from homecourt – Bucks have a magic number of one to clinch homecourt throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. That hasn’t happened since the early 70’s when the playoffs were extremely different. At that time, Milwaukee played in the Western Conference. If Raptors lose to Brooklyn on Wednesday night, the Bucks have it locked up. If not then, they can beat Philadelphia on Thursday night resulting in a Bucks win as well.
Negative: Composure wasn’t there for three quarters – Much like the Golden State a couple days ago, Bucks nearly lost a game because they could not get along with the referees. They’re going to have to realize that calls will not always go their way, and tough skin needs to be developed in the playoffs or else. This hasn’t happened often with the Bucks, so, I’m not too concerned.
Highlight of the Night: Missed three can sometimes equal a big ass dunk.

Next Up: Bucks finish up their road trip with a primetime affair with Philadelphia on Thursday. Who knows the status of everyone in this game. If the Bucks were to clinch on Wednesday, you might see some players resting for this one. If not, I would expect everyone to be a full go for their showdown with the Sixers. Philly could also rest a few guys with nothing to play for as they’re locked into the three seed.
