Bucks Buzz: Ending Home Slate On High Note

Milwaukee Bucks returned to Cream City for a victory lap with their fans on Monday night. They already clinched the playoffs with their eyes still on an outside shot at the fifth seed if things worked out well for them this week. Charlotte Hornets rested a few guys but gave Milwaukee a fight for three quarter then Milwaukee imposed their will in the final quarter. Bucks win their 42nd game for their third above .500 season in the last 25 years. They’re many more where that came from.
Player of the Game: Jason Terry (Bucks) – Look, I know Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped a triple-double, but Jet The Vet played an integral part in the comeback victory tonight. Terry had a season-high 15 points with five threes. Terry shooting a good clip heading into the playoffs is a great thing. Terry made many big shots throughout his playoff career. He’s been there before in a big way.
(Not) Player of the Game: Mirza Teletovic (Bucks) – He went 0-for-5 with four missed threes. Mirza continues to waste up roster space. He’s one of my bigger sore spots with this team heading into the postseason.
Player of the Game: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (Hornets) – There’s not much from Charlotte you can like in this game with only 79 points. MKG played pretty well with 13 points, five rebounds. He also did a pretty good job on Giannis tonight who despite a triple-double did not have the scoring night we’ve seen in the past.
Positive: Giannis triple-double alert – Giannis Antetokounmpo tied Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time team record with eight triple-doubles with a 10 point, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. He could have a few more down the stretch with only missing one assist. Milwaukee made sure that didn’t happen as Antetokounmpo found Khris Middleton to three with under a minute left.
Negative: Not much – Hard to be mad at Bucks right now. They clinched a playoff spot and will be over .500 no matter what. They’re an impressive team from where they were in February.
Next up: Milwaukee finishes the season up in Boston. Celtics still need to win their final game to secure the one seed. There’s a way where Cleveland gets it, but LeBron is resting against Toronto for the final game of the year. I wonder if Celtics will do the same. Bucks will be locked into the six if Hawks beats these same Hornets tomorrow night. Maybe Giannis gets some rest if Atlanta wins?
