Bucks Buzz: No Giannis Leads to a Bucks Loss
Milwaukee Bucks did not have their superstar on Friday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the game with some hip soreness. It’s likely Giannis just needed a night off. Milwaukee had a grueling schedule in the last couple of games playing Toronto, Utah and Houston. Those are all very good and tough teams. Antetokounmpo getting a night off in DC makes some sense. Bucks have done well without the Greek Freak going 7-2 without him before last night’s game. Sadly for the Bucks, they could not win another one without him. Wizards continue to be a strong home team with a 113-106 victory ending Milwaukee’s two-game win streak.
Player of the Game: Tomas Satoransky – Oh man, this is gonna get awkward for John Wall. Tomas Satoransky is a stud. He pushes the action and makes Washington a much more fast-paced team. He’s a ton of fun, and an easy player to get behind as a Wizards fan. He went off for his first career triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. My thought throughout this game is this Wizards team could make the playoffs with Satoransky and Bradley Beal which would be the funniest shit ever.
Silver Star: Khris Middleton – Usually when Giannis is out, Khris Middleton has himself a game. This really wasn’t those games, yet he still went off for the most part. Middleton scored 25 points with eight rebounds. He played pretty well, but still, it’s not the Midds game I think Bucks fans are looking for this year. To me, we all got spoiled at the beginning of the year. It’s very evident that happened early in the year.
Positive: Finding the open man – Credit to the Bucks for being on their assist game last night. Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon combined for 17 of the 26 assists Milwaukee had last night. Both Bledsoe and Brogdon did a great job distributing the ball throughout the game. Back in the Kidd doldrum days, people looked at 30 assists as the difference. Bucks had themselves at 26 assists last night which is pretty solid.
Negative: First quarter disaster – Bucks did not come out prepared in this game. They allowed 40 points to the Wizards in the first quarter. That cannot happen. Middleton mentioned it after the game. Bucks have to be better especially on the road. It is so hard to comeback on the road like this for Milwaukee. They played well in the second and third then Washington ultimately took control in the fourth. If they play better in the first, Milwaukee might win this game.
Highlight of the Day: My goodness, Sterling Brown. Throw it down, big man. Throw it down.

Next up: Milwaukee will try to avoid their first consecutive losses of the season on Sunday afternoon against Atlanta. I know the Bucks kicked the ever-living shit out of Atlanta last Friday, but they’re a scrappy team. They just beat Philadelphia on the road last night. This will not be an easy game for Milwaukee especially the early start on Sunday.
