Bucks Buzz: No Sunday Scaries for Milwaukee

Milwaukee Bucks had troubles on Sundays in the last couple of years. They come out lethargic and lazy like the team spent the eveing at Lucid. That did not happen on Sunday. Bucks went crazy from the start of the game until the end winning 144-109. It was one of the bigger ass-kickings I’ve seen in awhile from Milwaukee. They dominated this game from first quarter and on. Good way to kick off a West Coast road trip with a bounce back win against a promising team.
Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – What an afternoon for Giannis. He finished with a triple double that he attained in the third quarter. Giannis’ stat line looked like a video game. Antetokounmpo finished with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists. Giannis had a PER of +39 which is virtually unheard of in the league. He even added a three at the end of the game. The Greek Freak could do no wrong on Sunday.
Honorable Mention: Eric Bledsoe – After a rough fourth quarter in Boston, Bledsoe bounced back nicely finishing with 17 points and 6 assists on Sunday. He drove some of the scoring early on with 13 first half points. He did his best to keep up with the lightning quick De’Aaron Fox who did not have a great game from the field.
Thing I liked: Near perfection from the line – Yes, they did make 22 threes, and that’s part of the reason why Milwaukee won on Sunday. Yet how about going 30-for-33 from the free throw line for a 90 percent clip? That’s really fucking good. Bucks did not let free points go to the wayside. And with 22 threes plus 30 made free throws, you can see why they put up 144.
Thing I didn’t like: Khris Middleton regressing to the mean – In a way, this was predictable. Khris Middleton would not stay scorching hot for the entire year. At some point, he had to cool down. Midds had another rough night from the field after being so good to start the year. I wonder if Bud tries to get him some easy looks on Tuesday night.
Highlight of the Game: Giannis put fellow Grecian on a poster.
Next up
Milwaukee heads out West to face Portland and begin a four-game West Coast swing on Tuesday night. Trail Blazers are off to a good start. Damian Lillard has been on another level to start the season for Portland. This could be another huge Giannis game as the Blazers have zero answers for him.
