Bucks Buzz: Shorthanded Bucks Nearly Sneak One in ATL
Milwaukee Bucks did not have their full resources on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Hawks. Many people believed that Giannis Antetokounmpo would not play due to a lingering ankle injury that keeps popping up on him. Little did any of us know that Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe will not be playing either on Sunday. Bucks came out firing with a quick 23 point lead in first quarter. Milwaukee cooled off, and Atlanta forced overtime. Hawks end up pulling it out in overtime thanks to Milwaukee losing leads repeatedly in the final few minutes.
Player of the Game: Sterling Brown – What a game for Sterling Brown. He had a career high 27 points, nine rebounds and three assists. It felt like he had the game-winner in the overtime period with a tough layup in traffic, but Trae Young denied him that opportunity. Brown may have a future with the starting rotation. He continues to have good games for the Bucks.
Silver Star: Tim Frazier – Look, Tim Frazier isn’t that good, but he works his ass off. You cannot be mad at him after he played every single minute of the game today. That’s amazing. I give Frazier a lot of credit for a gritty effort out there. He had a great game too with 18 points, 15 assists and seven rebounds. That’s a hell of a stat line for a guy stepping up out of nowhere.
Positive: Young guys give a shit – You cannot say these guys are all-in. Bucks could have easily laid down today and got their asses kicked. Instead, they had a lead and pushed Atlanta throughout the game. You have to appreciate the team effort that these guys showed on Sunday afternoon.
Negative: Late game situations were not the best – This isn’t surprising to me nor should it be to anyone reading this blog post. Bucks did not have a go-to guy. And it felt like players such as Brown and Frazier wanted that moment late. In regulation, Sterling missed Brook Lopez who was wide late for a three-pointer. It is disappointing, but nothing to worry about.
Highlight of the Night: Trae Young hits a ridiculous game winner

Next up: Milwaukee heads to Brooklyn for a back-to-back. With all of the guys not playing on Sunday, I assume they’re back against the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow. We’ll see though. I wouldn’t hate another Giannis rest game, but we shall see.
Charlie.
