Bucks Buzz: The Forum Opens With A Bang

I didn’t realize that last year we did not have the Bucks Buzz. Well we’re bringing it back for the masses in 2018-2019 season. Sorry about not getting Game 1 out for y’all, but we have Game 2. On a night when most of their fanbase was concerned with how the Milwaukee Brewers were doing, the Milwaukee Bucks served a reminder to the city. We got next. Milwaukee had a resounding 118-101 victory against the Indiana Pacers. This also set the tone for the NBA Central Division as Indiana looks miles behind the Buck. The two teams figure to be front-runners in the Central.
Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Not a surprised that Giannis gets the first mention on the Buzz for the year as POG, but he’s worth it. Even though he did not have much of an impact in the second half, Giannis played a large part in the victory last night. He scored 25 points with 15 rebounds and five assists. He did miss seven threes, but it’s encouraging to see him try that many in a game. Giannis will put it together soon.
Honorable Mention: Malcolm Brogdon – We mentioned on the podcast about how free the Pres would be in this offense, and he showed it on Friday night. He had a pull-up three among other solid baskets. He finished with 15 points and seven assists in a strong effort in his second game as a Bucks starter. It appears that spot for him is here to stay.
Thing I Liked: All of the threes – Milwaukee broke the three-point attempt franchise record in three quarters. It showed that a new era is here in the city of Milwaukee. Khris Middleton made seven shots and five of them were from behind the arc. Even John Henson got involved with two threes to beat the buzzer.
Thing I Didn’t Like: Shaky from the line – You don’t want to make rash generalizations but the team did struggle from the charity stripe in this one. They only made 61% from the line missing eight free throws. In the first half, Middleton missed two free throws after getting fouled on a three-point bucket. Can’t have that.
Highlight of the night: John Henson’s three point game – Giannis said he looked like KD out there, and we’ll take his word for it. John looked pretty well from behind the arc, and he actually played some good defense.

Next up: Bucks welcome the Knicks to the Forum on Monday night for the third game of the year for Milwaukee. Knicks will be playing Boston this evening at home on a back-to-back, so, this will be New York’s third game in four nights when they come to town. Knicks have a new look with David Fizdale running the show. Enes Kanter versus Brook Lopez will be a matchup to keep our eyes on.
