Bucks Buzz: The Sweeping of The Chicago Bulls
Milwaukee Bucks do not sweep the Chicago Bulls often. On Monday night, Milwaukee had the first chance to sweep the Bulls since the 2000-2001 season. Also, Milwaukee had a chance to beat Chicago for the sixth straight time. That’s never happened in their rivalry against each other. Even without Giannis Antetokounmpo, who missed the game with a sore knee, Milwaukee got it done in easy fashion winning 117-106. This is the Bucks’ eighth straight win on the road, and they have won five straight games. Good vibes for this team heading out West for the next week or so.
Player of the Game: Malcolm Brogdon – Good night for The President. He seems to flourish when Giannis is not playing and did again last night with 22 points, five assists and four made 3-pointers. Brogdon found his rhythm in the second quarter where he had nine of his 22 points last night as that was the quarter where things flipped around for Milwaukee. As many people are talking about Milwaukee’s lack of elite talent, I’d ask to watch a player like Brogdon who does all of the little things and gets his buckets. He is very much a Spurs-like player in the mid-2000’s when they won their championships.
Silver Star: Pat Connaughton – At first, I was going to give a hot take that Pat Connaughton will win a playoff game for Milwaukee. But it will not surprise me if he has a big hand in one this season. Why? He seems to rise to the occasion when it’s presented to him. He barely played the last few weeks, and Bucks asked him to give 28 minutes of good basketball. He did exactly that with 10 points, six rebounds and five assists. That’s a strong night for Planet Pat.
Positive: Khris Middleton’s aggressive streak – Midds didn’t get any honors today due to poor shooting, but he deserves credit for what he did in this game. Middleton showed a streak of aggression that we haven’t seen from him. Middleton forced his way to the free throw line and made the first three of five three-pointers he took last night. He had 16 first-half points and finished with 22 on the day.
Negative: Wake up, Milwaukee – This isn’t surprise with Giannis, George Hill and Sterling Brown out, but Milwaukee started off very slow in this game. They trailed by 13 after one quarter. Bucks only scored 25 points, and some may have worried it was another Orlando situation. They woke up thankfully in the second flipping the score around with Milwaukee beating Chicago, 38-16. The team needs to be ready to go even without the Greek Freak in there.
Highlight of the night: Christian Wood… Throw it down big man, throw it down.

Next up: Bucks head out West to play Sacramento and a very up-and-coming Kings team. They’re pretty good at home, so, this isn’t a game that Milwaukee can take lightly. Kings are fighting for a final playoff spot in the Western Conference and currently sit in a game out of the eighth spot in the West. Bucks have won five straight against Sacramento.
