Bucks Buzz Vol. 38: Milwaukee Douse The Heat

Sorry, this is a little late, folks. Milwaukee Bucks could have let down against a bad Heat team on Friday night. Milwaukee had their best win of the year versus San Antonio, and they played a lowly Miami team. Now, Heat finished up a 10-day, six-game road trip when they came into Cream City, and they looked the part. Milwaukee took care of business all game long with a blowout victory, 116-108. Sure, eight points isn’t a blowout per say, but it was a dominating win by Bucks.
Player of the Game (Bucks): Giannis Antetokounmpo – Welcome back, Giannis! After missing two games with an illness, Antetokounmpo responded with 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. He looked fantastic out there. Antetokounmpo put on a show for the fans with some of the more incredible dunks you’ll ever see including the double-pump slam. That’s an amazing dunk. I showed it to people at a wedding on that night. I don’t know what more I need to tell you to go see this team play.
Not a travel.
Watch it again.

(Not) Player of the Game (Bucks): John Henson – Man, Henson being a starter is only by title. He isn’t very good. 19 minutes, two points and only five rebounds. I would love it if Bucks had more athletic physical player down low. I doubt they’ll make any moves, nor will anyone take Henson’s contract, but still, it would be nice to have someone else than Henson. Is Plumlee finally in shape?
Player of the Game (Heat): Luke Babbitt – I mean he only had 16 points, but I’m just amazed Luke Babbitt made himself into a productive player in the NBA. There are so many really good college players like Babbitt who don’t turn out the league, but he’s got a chance to shine with Miami’s injured roster. Wonder if he’s a trade piece in February for a team who needs shooting. He played really well with four threes and came out firing.
Positive: Six Players in Double Figures – Bucks spread out the scoring in this game with six players reaching 10 or more points on Friday. Another great game from Greg Monroe with 16 points and 11 rebounds. He started the scoring early and didn’t really stop. Michael Beasley followed up his big Wednesday with 11 points on 5-of-5 shooting and seven rebounds. Pretty solid effort there as well.
Negative: Bucks didn’t cover – Brutal beat for those who had Bucks -8.5 and had the bet won for most of the game minus the final few minutes. Feel for you guys.
Next up: In a couple of hours, Milwaukee gets set to tangle with Atlanta. They owe the Hawks an ass-kicking. First game between these two, Milwaukee got blown out early and came back to nearly win with Mirza leading the way. Second game, Bucks blew a 20-point halftime lead at home. A win here would also be important to avoid losing a tiebreaker with Hawks who are currently ahead of Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings.
