Bucks Buzz Vol. 54: Twice As Nice For Milwaukee

Milwaukee Bucks have won two straight games. My friend Lou Brown once said, ‘Win another one, and it’s a winning streak.’ Bucks could win three straight games and be 25-30 at the All-Star Break. While that’s not ideal, people would have seen that as realistic without having Khris Middleton for the first 50 games of the season. This was a nice win by Bucks. One of their best wins in awhile completely dominating Detroit from start to finish. More nice wins like this would be much appreciated.
Player of the Game (Bucks): Greg Monroe – I need to make a mental note to myself as a habitual DraftKings player, I need to play Greg Monroe against Detroit. He always gives it to his former team. Monroe finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds in a fantastic showcase game if Bucks decide to pull the trigger on him. He couldn’t be stopped with making 12-of-15 shots, and Detroit looked helpless against him.
(Not) Player of the Game (Bucks): Thon Maker – Not the best night for Thon going 3-for-10 and missed all four three-pointers on the night. But this is okay. Maker needs to get his shots up, and he’s doing that. Just because he played like shit shouldn’t stop him from getting shots up. They’re going to start falling at some point.
Player of the Game (Pistons): Marcus Morris – I couldn’t give it to Andre Drummond with how bad he played on defense versus Monroe so we’ll give to to Marcus Morris. Can we put to bed that twins need to be together to be successful? Morris brothers are playing damn well this season. Markieff is a solid third or fourth option for a red-hot Wizards team. Marcus is a solid second or third option for a lesser Pistons team. He’s a bad matchup for Bucks.
Positive: Bucks did it without Giannis – So, here’s where things could get awkward for Jabari Parker fans like myself, Bucks won this game from start to finish without Giannis Antetokounmpo. Monroe led the way with 25 points, and Michael Beasley had a hell of a game as the starter with 23 points on 10-of-13 shooting. It doesn’t have to be Beasley or Monroe every night, but if Bucks role players can come big like this, lottery dreams are dying.
Negative: Lottery might not be realistic – We might all need to make peace that this Bucks team could be fine with Parker’s departure. Is Jason Kidd a fucking bad coach? Yeah he is. But do Bucks have a load of veteran talent with an emerging superstar and a budding star? Yeah that’s true as well. It’s two games, but Bucks handled two teams who are going to be playoff teams if the season ended today.
Next up: Bucks head to Brooklyn for the final game before the All-Star Break. Milwaukee has won all three games against Nets this season. They have lost 13 straight games and 24 for their last 25. I’m not saying this should be another nice win for Bucks, but yeah, there should be a good chance. Yet you never fucking know with this group of idiots.
Charlie.
