Bucks Buzz Vol. 57: Sloppy Sunday Still Results In W

Milwaukee Bucks and Sunday’s haven’t been great this season. Before today’s game, Bucks had not won a Sunday game either at home or on the road. That changed with Phoenix today where Milwaukee won their first game after All-Star Break with a 100-96 victory. Bucks have now won four of their last five games, and they continue to find themselves with different looks given the roster changes.
Player of the Game: Malcolm Brogdon (Bucks) – Giannis had another fantastic game, and he nearly ended up with 30 points for a fourth straight outing. But Brogdon proved to be a difference maker for the team in the second half. Brogdon scored 15 points with seven assists in 24 minutes. He played really well to help Bucks win this game. They trailed heading into halftime, and the rookie turned it around for the team. Brogdon needs to play 30 minutes a game, no questions asked. He doesn’t have to be a ‘starter’ per say, but starter minutes should be happening.
(Not) Coach of the Game (Bucks) – Jason Kidd: What a malpractice of a coaching profession in the fourth quarter. Kidd put Giannis on the bench with five minutes left after riding him for the full third quarter and the start of the fourth. Some thought it would be a breather, but that didn’t happen. Kidd still can’t figure out Giannis’ minutes, and it’s amazing to see him continue to be this incompetent.
Player of the Game (Suns): Alan Williams – Big Sauce was the man today for Phoenix. He’s a damn good player and did the damn thing with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Williams showed some glimpses this season for Suns. Phoenix has a lot of big men, and he would be an interesting piece for some team if Suns move on from him next season.
Positive: Khris Middleton returns to the rotation – We’ll see if Middleton plays in the back-to-back against Cleveland tonight, but regardless, it seems like he will be a starter going forward. He only scored eight points but also added seven rebounds. Michael Beasley responded positively in his return to the bench scoring 17 points and showing a great deal of efficiency.
Negative: Careless with the ball – Bucks had 19 turnovers in this one, and that’s not a good thing. Further, they tried really hard to lose the game down the stretch with multiple possessions with turnovers. They need to be better with the ball. That’s not going to win many ball games. Thankfully for Milwaukee, Suns were just as sloppy turning the ball over 20 times.
Next up: Milwaukee heads to Cleveland for a national primetime game against LeBron James… maybe. James didn’t play on Saturday due to strep throat and that’s not a one-day illness. When James misses a game along with Kevin Love, the Cavs are 0-8 in the last two years.
