Bucks Grind Out a Gritty Road Win

Gritty is a term that gets overused and made fun of yet it can be the perfect way to describe a sports situation. That’s what we saw on Monday afternoon. It was a gritty performance by Milwaukee as they dropped two straight and even though, Washington gave them their best effort throughout the game, Milwaukee stood tall defensively. They went on a run in the final few minutes of the game to give Milwaukee the win, 103-94
Giannis goes off for a 20-20 afternoon
What a day from Giannis Antetokounmpo. He had one of his best stat lines of his career with 27 points, career-high 20 rebounds and seven assists. That’s fantastic. Giannis played such a huge factor in this game, and the last few haven’t felt like it’s been Giannis’ team. He took over today in the best way possible and outdueled John Wall down the stretch with some major shots in the final five minutes.
Bucks capitalized on Wizards turnovers
This wasn’t one of the best games for Washington as they turned the ball over 23 times in this game. They looked sloppy and out of sorts, and Milwaukee took advantaged. They scored on every one of Washington’s turnovers in this game. Bucks frustrated Wall and Bradley Beal to commit 11 turnovers. Milwaukee did a great job defensively which we haven’t been able to say in a few weeks.
Milwaukee starts to find their stroke from three
Hopefully, we’re seeing a little more regression to the other side of the table. Milwaukee has been ice cold from deep lately, but they were stellar in this one. Bucks made 8/16 from deep taking them when they had open looks. Loved how many times a three became open when Washington went to double team Giannis.
Next up
Milwaukee heads home to face a familiar foe with Miami on Wednesday night. Heat lost their first game in awhile on Monday and will probably be without starter Tyler Johnson for an extended period of time. Bucks need to replicate the first half of Sunday’s game throughout the entire game on Wednesday. Hassan Whiteside will be well rested, and that’s not a good thing for the Bucks.
