Bucks Make Right Move Letting Christian Wood Go
Christian Wood could be a rotation player in the NBA. It will not be with the Milwaukee Bucks though. Bucks decided yesterday that they will be waiving Wood to add another point guard, Tim Frazier. Wood is having a very talented G-League season, and it appears like he could be ready to make some strides in the NBA. With the success of the Bucks plus their wealth of big men, Wood had no spot on the roster. He should be with a team like New York, Atlanta and others where he can play 10 to 20 minutes a game and show his talents for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
This is obviously a thorny thing for Bucks Twitter. Look, I get it. But at the same time, this is going to happen with good teams. You’re going to have too many good players that you have to let go, sometimes. There is no one on this roster where I feel like Wood should be getting his minutes. He is too raw for this version of the Bucks. If Mike Budenholzer took over this team two years ago, Wood might have a roster spot on the Bucks.
I hope the best for him and hope he is not a G-League All-Star. Those things happen from time to time mostly in baseball and hockey versus basketball. Yet the Quad A players are absolutely a thing in other sports. Hope this isn’t the case for the former UNLV center.
As for Frazier, he is okay but nothing that will blow you away as a basketball player. He simply fills out a spot to help their guard issue with the Malcolm Brogdon injury, and George Hill still coming back from injury. If you’re unhappy with Frazier, I ask you to research what other guards are available. It is extremely barren.
Best of luck to Wood.
Charlie.
