Bucks’ New City Jerseys Are Red Hot

Milwaukee Bucks debuted their new City jerseys yesterday. Every year, Nike comes out with new jerseys. Despite the teams having cool jerseys on occasion, Nike needs the money. New jerseys every year means more cash for the shoe empire. Bucks’ City jersey features a throwback to all of their past jerseys as they’re combining generations with their jersey featuring the Irish rainbow, the purple, and many other key moments in Bucks’ history. They broke it down in a cool video yesterday.

What I like about these is that they do not try too hard. Not sure if you saw what the Heat did, but that’s a fucking tryhard move. Those are absolutely gross. Bucks are blending generations together, but it comes out pretty nicely. The purple might be a tad much, but even so, I think it looks fine with the green. People forget that green was always a part of the Bucks’ jerseys even when they were rocking the purple.
Speaking of purple, my hottest take is that the Bucks should not go back to it. It happened in the 1990s, and the reason why the Bucks went with purple is that Mike Dunleavy liked the colors of Wimbledon. That’s all. There is 0.0 real history with the purple. The purple brings up a time where the Bucks were lucky to get the 8 seed and a complete fucking afterthought in this city. It’s like bringing back a dish at a restaurant that everyone remembers as good, but really it is just mediocre. But if Nike thinks that’s the way to make money, guess what we will see? Purple jerseys.
