The eight games of the NBA restart do not truly matter to the Milwaukee Bucks. As a fan, you have to keep that in mind. They’re good for conditioning and unifying the team yet they truly do not matter for Milwaukee. That said, there is no need to panic about Milwaukee losing to Brooklyn yesterday, 119-116. Milwaukee pulled the plug on the starters at half as Brooklyn surprisingly led 73-65, and while the bench had an admirable effort, they could not complete the comeback. Yes, Milwaukee is 1-2 in the restart but so are the Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Clippers. Mind your business.

Player of the Game: Timothe Luwawu-Caborrot – Man, TLC is a Bucks killer. The guy had some big games against Milwaukee when he played for Philadelphia and did the same as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. Luwawu-Caborrot finished with 26 points and making five threes. Whenever the Brooklyn Nets needed a big shot, TLC was there for them. He looks like a rotation guy and a player that Brooklyn should keep on its roster.

Honorable Mention: Donte DiVencenzo – If you want a bright spot from this game, Donte DiVencenzo seemed to be much more comfortable. He had eleven points, six rebounds, and four assists playing most of the second half. DiVencenzo appeared to be back in form after two rough games as a starter for the Bucks as Eric Bledsoe was still out ramping up from being away from the team. This is good to see and Bucks will need this version of Donte in the playoffs.

One Thing to Clean Up – Bucks need to clean up their turnover issue immediately. I’m unsure where the turnover issues are coming from with the Bucks. Is it just a matter of they need more time to play together and Mike Budenholzer’s system is predicated on spacing which is leading to more mistakes? Looking at the first five games of the season, Bucks had two games with 15+ turnovers but nothing like we’ve seen with the bubble.

One Thing To Keep In Mind – This game did have an exhibition feel to it. And one thing I kept thinking about is almost all of these guys for Brooklyn are trying to make an NBA roster next season. Therefore, if they ball out against the Milwaukee Bucks, teams might take more of an interest in them for next season. They played with a special kind of energy and the Bucks did not match it.

Next up: Milwaukee takes on Miami on Thursday afternoon in what could be a playoff preview. This should be a big matchup for the Bucks. Miami is trying to get in the third seed as they’re only one back of Boston after their win last night. Miami could be without Goran Dragic and Jimmy Butler though. This will also be Miami’s third game in four days.
