Turnovers will win and lose you a game. No matter the sport. If you’re faulty with the ball, it is likely your team will not win. Milwaukee Bucks nearly got away with it. After an awful first half where they turned the ball over 14 times, Milwaukee cooled their jets for most of the second leading to better play and a lead. But then, the turnover monster came back. In the last three minutes, Milwaukee fell apart with multiple turnovers. Bucks finished with 23 for the game leading to a 120-116 loss to Houston. There were some good individual performances for Milwaukee but they did not outweigh the bad team effort in the turnover category.

Player of the Game: Giannis Antetokounmpo – Even though it didn’t feel like a loud night for Giannis, the stat line looks loud. Giannis finished with 36 points, 17 rebounds, and seven assists with only three turnovers. Antetokounmpo made 14-of-25 from the field along with a couple of three bombs. Giannis could not be stopped by the smaller Houston defenders. Antetokounmpo did enough to give Milwaukee a real chance in this one.

Honorable Mention: Khris Middleton – Good game from Midds in this one. He scored 13 points in the first quarter and never looked back finishing with 27 points. Why Mike Budenholzer took him out for an extended period of the first quarter had to be due to reacclimating these guys. Middleton looks in good form moving forward though. He did miss two shots late, but the haters will forget the shot he made to put Milwaukee up six. I did want to give him POG but based on turnovers, it goes to Giannis.

Worth a note: Brook Lopez – Just want to shout out Brook Lopez’s night. He finished with 23 points and 12 points. He was a man among boys and looking back on it, Lopez should have gotten the rock more.

A Thing to Maybe Worry About – Donte and George off to slow starts: With signs popping up in baseball, the bubble life isn’t for everyone. And while it’s too early to make assumptions, George Hill and Donte DiVencenzo struggled in their first two games back. They’re playing way too fast and playing out of position far too often. That cannot happen. Both players need to wake up. Maybe as they continue, the comfort levels start to develop.

Next up: Poor Brooklyn. Milwaukee gets to take all of its anger out on the Nets on Tuesday afternoon. Bucks will see a Brooklyn team that they barely know about with Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and Joe Harris being the only ones worthy of note.
