Big 10 playing their games on Friday is a real tough one for ya boy. Apologies to those who follow the Badgers and missed coverage from us on Saturday. My day was filled, so, blogging did not happen at all. That said, Badgers fans probably didn’t care. They’re riding high this weekend knocking off another unbeaten on the season. They take care of business and hand Iowa its first loss of the season with a 72-66 victory at Iowa City. Badgers rode a big performance from D’Mitrik Trice to win the game.

Trice is a three-point assassin – While Marquette is known for their three-point shooting, Wisconsin might have an answer in Madison. D’Mitrik Trice is shooting a stunning 60 percent from three for the season. He’s not launching them like others in college basketball, but that’s still an impressive number. Trice has been money all season. He hit the dagger to beat Iowa on Friday night with time running down in the game to give Wisconsin a five-point lead with 28 seconds left in the game.

Happ still fouls too much – Ethan Happ played 32 minutes of the potential 40 minutes. Much of that was due to Happ’s foul problems. This continues to be a problem for him. Happ doesn’t vibe with how the game is called these days, and that gets himself into trouble with the officials. Happ fouled out which does not help Wisconsin, and Trice carries the team in the final moment as Happ left the game. He needs to play within himself as teams will attack him in the paint.

One bench guy, you’re golden – We mentioned with another Badger game this season how Kobe King stepped up off the bench to deliver 14 points. Tonight, Brevin Pritzl had 12 off the bench with three made 3-pointers. For Wisconsin to be at their best, they need one bench guy to provide some secondary scoring. It doesn’t have to be King or Pritzl every night. They can ride a hot hand to success.

Next up: Wisconsin does the Big Ten back-to-back with a Monday game against Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are improved from last season, but they’re nothing to be worried about for the Badgers.
