Caleb Williams To Badgers Seems More Like A Reality Than A Dream

Wisconsin Badgers had a good, not great year. It’s been what Wisconsin has done for the last few years. There is a fear from some in Badgers country that Wisconsin took a step back while Michigan took a step forward and Ohio State is, well, Ohio State. Some of that might have to do with the struggles of Graham Mertz who did has not lived up to the billing of his prospect rating. Because of that, it’s not a surprise that Wisconsin looked around the transfer portal to see if any quarterbacks could compete with Mertz or take his job. Insert Caleb Williams, the premier quarterback in the transfer portal. There is a real shot that he could become a Badger.
This one is turning fast. Put my pick in for Wisconsin to land Caleb Williams earlier this afternoon. https://t.co/FGDtsDko2a

So why is this happening? Well, one reason is Bobby Engram. The former Bears wide receiver is likely going to be named the offensive coordinator for the Badgers. Engram has a relationship with Williams dating back to high school. It sounds like Engram, who worked with Chryst, will be working together with the ball coach to formulate an offense versus just handing the keys to a new offensive coordinator.
The other part is Russell Wilson. This is kind of humorous considering that post-Badgers, most Wisconsin sports fans have hated Wilson or disliked him enough as he was a rival to the Green Bay Packers. Williams and Wilson are connected, and it’s mostly due to comparison sake with how Wilson models his game. I guessw that Williams reached out to Wilson to get his POV, and he hyped up to his experience with Paul Chryst and Wisconsin.
We’ll have more if Wiliams does come to Wisconsin, but for now, they are just rumors.
