Giannis Antetokounmpo had a great night against the Boston Celtics. We talked yesterday about his iconic day and how it should be appreciated. To me, that and the Los Angeles Lakers being an absolute tire fire were the two stories of Christmas Day. One of the things that emerged on Sunday/late Saturday night was Giannis trash-talking Marcus Smart directly calling him a ‘fucking pussy.’ and that ‘he cannot stand him.’ All of this is for good reason of course.

This is the type of stuff I need in almost every game. Now, there isn’t a player like Smart on every team. But for Giannis to unleash his fury against his opponents is obviously appreciated. Smart is the type of guy that gets under everyone’s skin. I saw in the comments that Boston fans don’t like him that much which is weird because he seems like a guy that only the team that roots for him likes but to each their own.

These two have played against each other enough to develop some bad blood. Smart knows that his role to instigate things and that’s what he’s done with Giannis in the past. Antetokounmpo got some sweet revenge on Saturday. Milwaukee does not see Boston until April 7th. My guess is Smart will not forget this but there’s a chance Smart might be elsewhere by then or Giannis is resting because the Bucks have the one seed.
