CFB Picks Week 11 Brought To You By Dubs The Husky

-
Sit down for the full game and maybe have a few beers, you’re not going anywhere.
20. USC at 4. Washington (-8.5) 6:30 pm FOX – The USC revival is one of the more fun things about college football this year. They looked to be in the dumpster, and Clay Helton pulled them out led by their freshman quarterback Sam Darnold. Washington moved into the fourth spot in the rankings after thrashing California. Jake Browning continues to be great for this team. I like Washington here because Darnold is going to have trouble with this defensive line of Washington’s, and that results in a few turnovers. WASH 31-20
9. Auburn at Georgia (+10) 2:30 pm CBS – This is always a fun, close game. Auburn is a good team but they aren’t worth 10-point road favorites. They’re wounded all over the place. Jacob Eason will deal with a tough pass rush, but he should be able to manage it to keep this close. Auburn holds off Bulldogs team with their running game in a tight, hard-fought win. AUB 23-21
Definitely worth watching a quarter or two
16. West Virginia at Texas (-2) 11:00 am FS1 – Good way to star the day. Charlie Strong wins this game, and he’s probably going to make it another year. D’Onta Freeman is one of the best players that no one talks about and he should get some opportunities versus Mountaineers defense. Same can be said for Skyler Howard, but Mountaineers cannot turn the ball over as much as they have in the past couple weeks. I like Texas here. Freeman continues to be great and carries them over Mountaineers. TEXAS 31-26
24. LSU (-7) at 23. Arkansas 6:00 pm ESPN – I never saw what Arkansas did to Florida coming and forgot about how good Bret Bielema has been in November. He looks to continue against LSU who has to be beat up from last week. Rawleigh Williams might have a better day than expected. It’s close, but I like LSU here. Their defense is still very good, and Leonard Fournette is still a beast who can handle Arkansas defense. LSU 27-23
Minnesota at 19. Nebraska (-7) 6:30 pm Big Ten Network – Feel like this game flew under the radar. Minnesota is 7-2 with a 4-2 Big Ten record. They’ve been absolutely no one to get to this point. Their offense has been better in the past couple weeks with strong performances by Rodney Smith who should have another one this weekend. Nebraska might be without Tommy Armstrong Jr. in this one, and that doesn’t make feel good. Ryker Fyfe left much to the imagination last Saturday. I’m taking Cornhuskers to win here due to Armstrong Jr. playing, but I don’t feel good about it. NEB 21-17
Upset of the Week
10. Penn State (-7) at Indiana 11:00 ABC – We got on the Indiana train earlier this season, and we’re headed back to the well. Penn State is really good and better than we expected. This seems ripe for a letdown. Hooisers need one more win to become bowl-eligible, and Richard Leglow is starting to cook at quarterback although I’m concerned with his turnovers. IND 21-20
Bet of the week
Baylor at 11. Oklahoma (-17.5) – We’re headed back to Big 12 with more logic than last week. Two teams going in different direction. Oklahoma keeps getting stronger while Baylor’s defense reverted to its ugly self. Big-time win by Sooners with Baker Mayfield-Dede Westbrook doing it big. OKLA 48-21
SnoTap Bar Watch of the Week
California at 23. Washington State (-15) 9:30 pm ESPN – The Bar Watch Team of the Year aka Washington State joins us again on a Saturday night. This time, it’s against Cal in a known shootout with the over/under set at 83. This game might not be done til bar close. I like Luke Falk to keep the ball rolling for the Cougs as Golden Bears defense has no answer for Washington State’s offense. WAZZU 55-31
16. Colorado (-16) at Arizona 9:00 pm FS1 – Double bar watch night! Why even talk to anyone at the bar when the Pac-12 After Dark churns out two games. This one will be ugly. Wildcats are the worst team in the Pac-12. Colorado will take full advantage and win handily. BUFFS 41-17
Worth a channel flip but don’t plan your day around it.
3. Michigan (-21.5) at Iowa 7:00 pm ABC – Everything says Michigan is going to blow the doors off Iowa. They’ll probably try to match what Ohio State did to Nebraska last Saturday night. That being said, there’s something about a night game as an underdog. Michigan still wins this game because Jabrill Peppers will make a couple big plays plus Wilton Speight continues to get better at quarterback. MICH 28-14
Ole Miss at 8. Texas A&M 6:30 pm SEC Network – Battle of the back-up quarterbacks! They’re not sure who will do the damn thing for Ole Miss while Jake Hubenak. This game is tough to read without the quarterbacks. I’ll go with best position group on the field which is the Aggies defensive line. I’m taking home squad big. TAMU 41-17
Georgia Tech at 14. Virginia Tech (-14) 2:30 pm ESPNU – Yellow Jackets can’t stop the rush, and that’s not a good thing versus Hokies team. Jerrod Evans and Travon McMullin should be able to run all over this defense. I like the Hokies here. VT 34-10
Texas Tech at 13. Oklahoma State 2:30 pm FS1 – All you need to know is this game has an over/under of 90. No one is talking about a sneaky Oklahoma State team that could be a playoff contender by season’s end. They continue their quest with another large game from Mason Rundolph. OK STATE 52-43
