Welcome to The ChallengeCap. This is a recap on Thursday mornings of what happened on The Challenge last night. The Challenge Total Madness started off with a bang. It is a different type of season, to say the least. They’re in Prague, Czech Republic. They’re staying in an underground bunker. And you have to win one elimination in order to make the final. I love that twist. They always say that ‘This changes everything’, but honestly, this changes everything. This is a great twist. Let’s dive into the episode a little bit shall we?

Rate the episode: 8/10 – Pretty good start to the season if I don’t say so myself. We had a good Challenge that led to some young bucks, Jenny and Rogan, winning it. T.J. Lavin running over shit with tanks was an A+ way to start a season. We also had Nany making out with her first person on the show, Asaf. The weird sexual tension between Bear and Kaliah. Good elimination round between Jay and Asaf, but it was very one-sided to Jay considering his rock-climbing skills.

How did the Power Rankings shape up: I’ve underrated Jenny – With these power rankings, there is always one or two that I completely misfire on. It is like a preseason top 25 in football or basketball. Sometimes, someone is too high and they go home earlier. Other times, I put an unknown near the bottom. Jenny is getting a bump up after her performance last week. I also had Aneesa way too high. Not sure what the fuck happened there.

One Thing I Liked: Johnny & Wes team up – This is an amazing maneuver by these two guys. We talked about how Bananas had lost a step and figured out a way to get around things by going with Wes. Do I think this is going to work? I’m unsure but it would not surprise me if they go a little further.

One Thing I Didn’t Like: They overrated the house – We heard about this underground bunker with the bare essentials. It wasn’t that at all. The rooms are super small. But they have a huge pool, an iron gym, and a kitchen. It looked like an ad agency breakroom on steroids.

What to watch next week: The big thing to see is how the veterans handle this twist. Are they going to be able to adjust to that right away? Or will they try to trim the fat?
