Clay Matthews Does Not Like All-Decade Snub

You have to give the NFL credit. We are a desert of content right now for sports. But the National Football League keeps churning out new things to give us something to talk about. Yesterday, the NFL released its All-Decade team highlighting the best players from 2010 to 2019. Aaron Rodgers is obviously on there but he is Green Bay’s only member. Clay Matthews did not getting left off the list of outside linebackers. Matthews could definitely make a case, and he showed off his resume to the Twitter world.
• 81.5 sacks / 91.5 career (Packers all-time sack leader)
• 11 sacks in 15 playoff games (Packers all-time playoff sack leader)
• SB Champion
• NFC Defensive POY
• 6x Pro Bowl / 3x All-Pro
• 2 years at ILB (2x Pro Bowl / 1x All Pro)
… running out of characters! 🤯

Even though Matthews began his career outside the last decade, he did most of his work in this decade. It is hard to replace Khalil Mack or Von Miller, although, he might have a case against Chandler Jones. But the thing that gives Jones the edge over Matthews for a decade team is the Arizona lineman’s ability to still rush the passer at his age.
I did enjoy that Matthews dropped a little nugget about inside linebacker at the end of the tweet. That is not a mistake. Matthews finally showing love to a position he has not liked for years, despite what anyone else thinks of that theory. Who knows if the Packers will reach out for a comeback at inside linebacker. If the fans ran the team, that would definitely be happening.
