Craig T. Nelson STUNK at Saturday Selections

Saturday Selections are arguably the best part of College Gameday before the games begin at 11:00 am. When Wisconsin played host to College Gameday, we’ve seen notable Wisconsin alums and Packers players, yet this morning, ESPN went with Craig T. Nelson. This was a promotion of Disney’s biggest summer 2018 movie ‘Incredibles 2’, and Nelson starred as a head football coach in ‘Coach’ for nine years. It’s hard to believe there was a worse Gameday picker than this guy. What a complete fucking dread.
I don’t know where to even start with Nelson. First, he got a little handsy with ESPN’s Maria Taylor heading on stage. Second, he knew absolutely nothing about any of these teams and rolled out all sorts of cringeworthy dad jokes. “Yale is going to win because they’ll outthink them.” HAR DEE FUCKING HAR, CRAIG! This guy mailed this in harder than Latrell Spreewell in his final years as a Timberwolves player (Why couldn’t we get Spree? Did he have a shift at Jo-Cats?). Anyway, this guy was terrible.
It serves ESPN right for going with some promotion of a kids’ movie that the college-age audience will not give a shit about next summer. When they go to Alabama-Auburn, Justin Thomas will probably be the guest picker, and he’ll do awesome at it. The short and sweet of it is let’s get away from guys who do not care at all about college football.
Charlie.
