Cubs Twitter Meltdowns over Team’s Travel Plans

You know who had a bad day? Chicago sports fans that are Cubs and Bears fans. Their football team got their hearts ripped out by ‘The Man’ Aaron Rodgers, and their Cubs team didn’t play yet they’re now playing 30 games in 30 days thanks to Major League Baseball. And if you wouldn’t know, the Cubs fans are mad about these things. It’s like there aren’t teams all over baseball who do not deal with weather problems. Chicago is the only baseball team to ever have problems with their travel. One has to wonder if this is all karma for the Cubs cancelling a Saturday game when the red-hot Brewers were in town, and the weather was picture perfect.
And this couldn't have been decided hours ago.
And Thursday? Really? Why? Such a waste of player time today and time on Thursday as it's in the middle of a homestand. And was supposed to be the first day off in 23 days!— Ann (@BSideCrafter) September 9, 2018
The @Cubs last official day off was 8/20. Due to today’s postponement, their next official day off is 9/20.

This should be the rare exception where it should be played in Chicago or a neutral site. Who reschedules a game with an impending hurricane looming? If we (a) go for nothing (b) get stranded due to hurricane, the team should file for an injunction

Couple things here that Cubs fans need to have perspective on this whole thing. One, they will not play this game if the pending hurricane ends up coming directly to Washington D.C. It’s not going to be something where the team heads to DC only to get another rain delay. Second, this game would have 1000 percent been played if there was a three to four hour window for a game. There was not that window, so, they cancelled it, and Chicago has to come back to DC on Thursday. They might have to face Max Schrezer agian which is just bad luck, but that’s baseball, Suzyn.
