Daily Tap 1/8/18: Gutekunst Is Green Bay’s Guy + Bama/UGA Preview

Happy Monday for Daily Tap. We’re chatting about many things, and some that were unexpected. When we finished taping on Sunday afternoon, news broke an hour later that Green Bay would be going with Brian Gutekunst as their General Manager. It would have been nice to know that before starting the podcast, but such is life. We’ll talk about it here as well as get you ready for tonight’s College Football Playoff final pitting Alabama versus Georgia
Topic 1: We talk about what the Brian Gutekunst hire could mean for the future of the Packers. We look at some of the moves he will probably make in the first few months in office from Aaron Rodgers extension to what they should do about a few aging players like Jordy Nelson or Bryan Bulaga.
Topic 2: We discuss the National Championship game and if anyone really cares outside of the South as the energy is not high for this game. Alabama is slowly looking like the favorites in this game as Nick Saban tries to continue his dominance against former coaches.
Topic 3: We wrap up the weekend in sports talking about the Big Ten Classic known as Bills-Jaguars, Saints-Panthers thoughts plus my hope for next week then admire what Dustin Johnson did to a golf course in Hawaii.
