Darius Rucker Is My Favorite Final Four Super Fan

Every collegiate team has a super fan. You know the guy or girl they show in the stands after a big play or after a commercial break with Jim Nantz saying something cheesy. They also do interviews all over the place talking about their fanhood. The top contenders for this Final Four are Michael Jordan (North Carolina), Phil Knight (Oregon), John Stockton (Gonzaga) and my favorite, Darius Rucker, for South Carolina. He’s a diehard fan and wears the emotion on his sleeve.

Rucker went viral in the best way possible for crying in the stands. Yes, this led to many shitty Hootie & The Blowfish jokes on Twitter, but it was well worth it. It’s pretty cool to see a celebrity be an actual fan. That’s what always made Ashley Judd cool is she lived and breathed Kentucky Wildcat basketball. Jordan and Knight are both very stoic in the stands to protect their brands. Rucker is doing it with both sports as he loves the university more so than anything else. I look forward to the plentiful Rucker appearance.
