Davante Adams’ Concussion Forces Green Bay’s Hand

Green Bay Packers learned on Monday that Davante Adams have a concussion. This means he will not be available for Thursday’s game. Green Bay loses their outside receiver for a critical game against lowly Chicago. While I hope Adams recovers quickly from his concussion, this could be a good thing for Green Bay offense. It forces them to be more creative with the personnel, and that’s something this offense needs in the worst way possible.
They could Cobb-Nelson with a tight end. Ty Montgomery is going to get his looks, but my guess is he will be out of the backfield more than on the outside. Many Packers fans will think this is the spot for Jeff Janis, and I don’t disagree that Rodgers should take a couple ‘shot’ plays with Janis down the field in this one. A part of me thinks Jared Abbrederis could play a big role as he has a similar skill set as Adams although he might end up not being a Packer with the Jackson’s promotion.
With the 10 days off, Adams could return to action against Atlanta in a big Week 8 game.
