Grizz Coach David Fizdale Has No Time For Big Data
Memphis Grizzlies are showing their age in the first two games against San Antonio Spurs. Grizz aren’t set up to run with Spurs or really most of the playoff teams. They need to do a subtle rebuild and starting getting young with their roster. Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale isn’t having that though. He’s fed up with the officiating in this series thus far, and let the media hear about it afterwards delivering the first great coach rant of 2017. We don’t get these often so cherish it like a special flower.

Fizdale did not appreciate that Zach Randolph did not get to line at all, and Kawhi Leonard made it to the line 19 times. Fizdale went off on the officials in something we haven’t seen in a while. I love the line of ‘We’re not going to get rooked’ as well as ‘Take that for data!’ which will be a drop on Tapping The Keg Podcast when I return in two weeks. To me, this is a rallying of the troops thing and while the Memphis coach knows he’s going to get fined, it puts the refs at an awkward position. He tried to work them in the game obviously, and it didn’t work so he had to resort to going off in the postgame leading to what will be a major fine.
Memphis needs to be selling ‘Take that for Big Data’ t-shirts for Game 3 in Grind House. In my opinion, Grizzlies might not be a terrible bet for that one.
