Don’t Believe Vegas On Adrian Peterson to Packers

Before Brent Musburger retired, he talked about his ‘friends in the desert’ and how you don’t bet against them. I usually would agree, but something that will be radio show fodder in the coming days is Vegas made Green Bay Packers the favorite to get Adrian Peterson. Some might feel this is an indication that the betting world knows something that we do not, but in reality, they’re trying to save money on a situation they have no real clue about before the start of free agency. Let me explain.
From BookMaker.eu: Adrian Peterson’s team in Week 1 of 2017 regular season
Green Bay Packers +200
Minnesota Vikings +250
New England Patriots +1000
Oakland Raiders +1000
New York Giants +1500
Dallas Cowboys +2500
Field +120
Packers are the most public team on this list that has a realistic shot at signing Peterson. Dallas Cowboys are on the list, but it’s more likely I get a six-pack than Peterson goes to Dallas. Vegas will take your money when it’s easy – see any strip club in town (Shout to Sapphire’s). But they would not dare to give Packers fan a chance to make real money on something like this happening hence why he’s the favorite. This is all a move to save Vegas a little money and not get burned by it. Sometimes, there are clues and tips, but this isn’t one of those things. There’s a reason Vikings and Packers are at the top.
If you want to make a Peterson bet using these lines, New York Giants is easily the best bet at 15-to-1. Those are good odds for something that could realistically happen versus some pie-in-sky dreamland.
