Don’t Even Think About Urban Meyer to Green Bay

Urban Meyer is stepping down as Ohio State football coach. Meyer is retiring for his second time. That said, no one really believes this to be true. Meyer is exiting himself after a dreadful 2018 season off-the-field that nearly saw the Ohio State coach fired for his handling of Zach Smith. It’s one of the many issues with Meyer at the helm. Now, many expect him to take the year off likely and coach a team like USC. That would be fine as long as he stays far away from Green Bay, Wisconsin, that’s okay with me.
Some may connect the dots about Meyer and say the Green Bay opening made this change happen for him. Last week, a report came out that this exact thing was happening except Ohio State’s head coach would coach one more year before retiring. Ohio State strongly denied the report. After the Green Bay job opens up, Meyer is suddenly ready to leave the Buckeyes. The idea of less drama in the pros might suit the older head coach, and a chance to coach Aaron Rodgers would likely be a dream for anyone including Urban. Green Bay should not even sniff in this direction though. He’s a drama-filled coach with an ego the size of Alaska. No thinks.
There will be rumors about it. We’re in the silly season of Packers coaching rumors, and that will be the case for the next four weeks. Until the season is over, names will spew out of the woodwork. Some have legitimacy while others are ridiculous. Although, the current state of the NFL and domestic violence is not a good one. Reuben Foster and Kareem Hunt’s situations might make teams less likely to even think of Meyer as a head coach. Hiring Urban should be met with the same type of criticism.
For reasons that aren’t football, Ohio State’s coach would be wildly unpopular in the state at least for the first couple of years. Wisconsin-Ohio State is a rivalry, and the Badgers fanbase does not really like Meyer and company. This is stupid to have the fans’ support, and the office doesn’t really give a fuck yet it would be weird to see an Ohio State guy come coach in Wisconsin.
LA will be great in 2020, please go there.
