Fire Up Your Adrian Peterson to Packers Rumors

NFL offseason is here. Adrian Peterson is one of the biggest names who could be out on the free agent market this summer. Minnesota Vikings running back will be highly coveted, but it will not be a cheap acquisition. Two different national respected writers wrote Packers should have interest with Peterson. This is the dream of any sports talk radio show host. They must have read the articles this morning and said ‘By god, we can talk about this forever.’ But that’s all it is… Radio show fodder.
ESPN’s Rob Demovsky and Bill Barnwell wrote separate articles about Peterson to Packers. Demovsky worked it around ‘Revenge of Brett Favre’, and the first time Packers could acquire a Vikings player under their noses. To be honest, there is one Vikings player who makes a ton of sense for Green Bay, and that’s Captain Munnerlyn. He’s a helluva slot corner and can do great things for Packers defense. I want that guy versus Peterson.
Barnwell discussed it as one of the five things Green Bay should do this offseason. To me, this was Barnwell having a little fun with a serious topic. It’s the last of his five and kind of a ‘what would be the most what the fuck thing this team could do?’ That’s how I interpreted that whole thing from his end.
Should this actually happen? I’m unsure. You could make a reasonable argument for Packers needing a running back, but I’m not sure Peterson is the guy. He’s a headcase and more of a diva than people make him out to be. From a team chemistry standpoint, Peterson isn’t the answer for this team. I’m not going to even see this pipe dream out at this point. When rumors start getting louder, we can have a discussion about how he fits with Packers.
