Former Badgers RB James White Is Super Bowl Hero

Even if you don’t like New England Patriots, Wisconsin Badgers fans were graced with a cool moment watching James White have an all-time performance out there with 14 catches for 110 yards, six rushes for 29 yards and three total touchdowns including the game-winner. Funny story, Murph and I made some wagers tonight and went in on Dion Lewis for MVP. Little did we know the other running back, James White, the former Badger, would have a massive day. If it weren’t for Tom Brady going bonkers with 466 passing yards, White probably wins the MVP.
Remember the narrative years ago about how Badgers running backs don’t excel in the next level? It started with Ron Dayne, Michael Bennett carried the torch then Montee Ball lit up again, but in reality, Badgers backs are thriving in the league. Melvin Gordon had a strong second season and looks to be a focal point of San Diego’s team. White just had one of the best Super Bowl games by a running back. This is good for Corey Clement come May, and it’s good for recruiting to show high schoolers what Wisconsin built as the foundation.
It’s hard not to be happy for White. He was an underrated player with Wisconsin who never fully got the recognition of being a great back with Badgers.
Charlie.
