Giannis Antetokounmpo Wants To Play 20 Years & All With The Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo got named by The Athletic as the 24th-best player of all time in a celebration of the NBA’s 75th anniversary. It’s a great honor for the Greek Freak. He deserves it though with all of his accomplishments. Antetokounmpo is on his way to becoming one of the best players of all time, even if, there are people out there who don’t believe. Antetokounmpo did a lengthy interview with Eric Nehm of The Athletic where he talked about a host of things, but one was playing for 20 years. He noted that it will hopefully all be with Milwaukee too.
The Reddit user took it a bit out of context. Giannis is hopeful that he can play until he’s 38 or 39. I don’t see why not. The way that modern medicine helps athletes, Giannis should be in great shape. LeBron James gets more banged up than he ever has before, but James is still doing great things at age 37. I have no reason to believe that Giannis cannot do something very similar. Giannis showed great durability throughout his career, and the ability to bounce back quickly from any injury he does suffer.
Antetokounmpo also noted that he would like to play all of these seasons with the Bucks. That obviously warms your heart if you’re a Bucks fan. Will it happen? I have no idea. It is hard to predict. Some believe that the Bucks are this generation’s San Antonio Spurs, and if that’s the case, Giannis would be staying for the duration. If that does happen, Antetokounmpo has a chance to be the most popular Wisconsin athlete of all time.
We’ll see what happens though in the next 10 or 11 years. A LOT can change. I’ll enjoy the ride for the time being and hope that the Bucks can win more basketball games this month very soon.
