Giannis Needs More National Media Attention

Giannis Antetokounmpo made the second-team all-NBA yesterday. He did not make it to the First Team as Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard took his spots. The other day, the Greek Freak did not even sniff the All-NBA Defensive team. What’s going on here? One of the best seasons in Bucks history, and the national media seems to shrug it off? What gives. It’s pretty easy to see that the national media needs to know Giannis more whether that’s through interviews, podcasts or more games on television. Bucks need to have an onslaught of Giannis content next season.
Some might say ‘Why worry about that, do it on the court.’ Sure, but the fact is Giannis did perform better on the court. He had better numbers than KD in almost every category this season. There’s no question he was the better player than Durant. But due to KD’s stature in the league, Giannis gets shifted to the second team. He’s one of the best players in the league, and it’s about time the media treats him like one. I do think there’s a perception about him that’s he’s not fully developed yet and needs to wait his turn almost to be considered among the greats. Look at what Bill Simmons said last night about the whole thing. Simmons amplifies what we’re saying about the Giannis’ perception.
KD vs Giannis for 2nd forward spot was unfair. Didnt love how KD ended reg. season but he’s a top-3 guy and I didn’t think he should lose that spot unless Giannis took it. The Bucks just weren’t good enough and G tailed off a little late.

Giannis is going to have his moment. It’s coming. Whether it’s next year or the year after that, it’s going to be fucking special, and we’re all going to be bathe in it around this city. I’m ready for it, and the media will be too. Trust me, this is a process, and we’re going to see a shift in the perception sooner rather than later.
