Giannis Will Keep Shooting Threes – Like it or Not.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had a lot to say on Tuesday afternoon. We already mentioned the comments made about Jason Kidd, but the other interesting moment came when Giannis talked about shooting threes. If you watched on Monday, Antetokounmpo finished a dreadful 0-6 from three. Six attempts is a career high which has done tow other times. Once against Indiana to begin the year and once last year versus Atlanta. In the Indiana and Denver games, The Greek Freak did not hit one three. But his coach, Mike Budenholzer, wants him to keep shooting his shot like he’s sliding in the DMs of some Instagram model. Here’s the quote.
“Last night I was 0-6 from three. I talked to Coach Bud after the game and he said ‘Keep shooting. If it doesn’t fall this year, it will next year.’” pic.twitter.com/Dgy0D04UEq

I LOVE THIS. Giannis has the green light. It’s not going to be something where he has to tone it down. Mike Budenholzer understands that this could be a process for the young superstar to develop a three point shot. To me, this is the ultimate player coach for Bud and his coaching staff. They know their team is pretty good right now. But if Giannis hit two to four threes per game to go along with what he doe inside the paint, this team becomes fucking unbeatable. Everyone knows that including Giannis. He needs to find his comfort level with the three point shot. Hopefully, it will happen this year.
