Giant L Flag Banned From Miller Park
You remember the Giant ‘L’ Flag from last year, right. If you don’t, here’s a refresher course. The fan, a hero and gentleman, Jay Ryan, brought it to Miller Park again on Friday night. The ‘L’ flags have become very popular around Miller Park. They bother Cubs fans, and Brewers fans love them. The giant one has seen its last day. Brewers security said that if they see the flag today or tomorrow that the Hart will be arrested for trespassing. I’m sorry, I thought we were in America? All jokes aside, this is fucking ridiculous by the Brewers. From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today, here’s Ryan on what the officials said.
According to Ryan, who is planning to attend games on Saturday and Sunday, security informed him after the game that the flag would be confiscated and he would be arrested for trespassing if he was caught with it at a future game.
I don’t get what the big deal is here. I get that Milwaukee does not want any fights, but at the same time, why do the Brewers troll the Cubs on social media? Why can they troll but the fans cannot? Is he waving the flag in Cubs’ fans faces? If so, then yes, the flag deserves to stay at home. But if he is flying it like Chicago fans would with their stupid ‘W’ flag then so be it. If you remember, Miller Park caught some heat for not allowing the ‘W’ flags into the ballpark after the L Flag went viral, so, this may be a response to end all flags from entering the ballpark.
It is stupid, but then again, this is the same facility that banned Long Island Ice Teas from leaving Friday’s because the vendors are soft as baby shit. I shouldn’t be surprised that they want to make sure everything stays sane, and no one starts any fights. That is the right thing to do, but threatening someone with an arrest feels intense.
Charlie.
