Greg Jennings Has Only Himself To Blame For Ruining His Rodgers’ Relationship

Greg Jennings used to be a fixture on the blog and the podcast. We talked about him a lot. It seemed for awhile that Jennings would find his way into the local media circle then it would become a story. And the way he found it was due to his criticism of Aaron Rodgers. Jennings buttered his bread by talking shit about the Packers’ quarterback through the media and painted this picture of him being a bad guy. The former Packers and Vikings wide receiver talked to the Pioneer Press this week and talked about his ‘nonexistent’ relationship with Rodgers. My one question for Jennings is… How fucking dense can you be? You’re telling me the most noted grudge holder in sports will not give you the time of day? No way.
“We don’t text, we don’t communicate like that,” Jennings said. “We haven’t had an official sit-down, like bring it all in for a hug, since I left Green Bay. … We had a great relationship [in Green Bay] … Our relationship now has been non-existent. I tried to reach out to refurbish it but haven’t had any success. The acceptance from his side has just not been there.”
Jennings did not like how things ended up in Green Bay which started the fracture then when the former receiver realized he got more TV time by talking shit then it became a breakup. Even though Jennings’ clueless act is pretty dumb when there are clips upon clips of him badmouthing Rodgers, I still feel bad for him.
Jennings got chewed up and spit out by FOX. They encouraged him to dial up the Rodgers stuff, and Jennings knew if he would do that, it leads to more opportunities. The former Packers’ receiver is now not working for FOX and being a family man instead. All the Rodgers’ hate didn’t lead to a new job and he lost a friend in the process.
This should be a life lesson to us all. Don’t burn bridges to advance your career especially when it is related to your friends. That might sound soft as shit but it’s the truth. Jennings learned it the hard way.
