I’m Here For A Motivated Muhammad Wilkerson

Muhammad Wilkerson cashed them checks as Jalen Rose said before as he sat on a fat deal from the New York Jets. New York did not do much winning since Wilkerson received a major deal, and it caused him to lose interest in football. This might give some people pause, but it’s apparent that Mike Pettine believes he can wrok with Wilkerson to get him back to where he was at the beginning of his career. With Green Bay taking a very low risk with him, this is absolutely the right move to make for the Packers. Many are using the adjective ‘motivated’ in front of Wilkerson’s name, and I am as well because this guy will have something to prove all year.
The guy has all the talent in the world, and he needs to home it in. This is a perfect spot for him to do it. Green Bay lacked these moves for such a long time. One of the bigger missteps in the Thompson’s regime was ignoring the guys who needed a second or third shot for football reasons. Thompson deferred to taking guys who were undrafted free agents or continuing to build within the draft versus seeking out players this talented. Green Bay could have a Pro Bowl defensive end if he turns it around under new Defensive Coordinator Mike Pettine.
Green Bay is definitely not done with their defense, and I’m sure Pettine gave new Packers general manager a list of guys he might want the team to consider or not consider as they fit into the defense. Pettine and Mike McCarthy both seem to have an ear to the front office which is something we haven’t seen in Green Bay. That’s a very encouraging sign, and Green Bay should be proud of themselves for getting a deal done with Wilkerson.
Cannot wait to see the front three of Mo, Mike and Kenny.
Charlie.
